A fresh start with new electives

This week kicked off a fresh round of electives, and the excitement was everywhere. Most students, aside from those in yearlong electives, moved into new classes that give them the chance to learn new skills, explore new interests and make new friends. It was an excellent way to start the trimester.

  • History in the Making (Art) - Students began by creating nameplates that express who they are, filled with color, creativity and personality.
  • Maverick Media Network - Students were all over the building capturing interviews and photos. They are working to keep announcements engaging and ensure the yearbook is full of memorable moments.
  • Building Exploration - Students built friendships and structures using Legos, blocks, K’nex, GraviTrax and Spintronics, letting their imaginations lead the way.
  • Canva & Cricut Design - Students brainstormed project ideas and planned the materials they will need to bring their designs to life.
  • Grub & Games - Students learned new card games while mixing in physical activities to stay active and energized.
  • Juggling & Team Sports - Some students practiced juggling while others completed a workout before everyone came together for a lively game of dodgeball.
  • KAY Club - Students decorated the school for the winter season, putting up trees and adding festive cheer throughout the building.
  • Mav Makers - Students jumped into designing their upcoming projects, setting the stage for a creative trimester.
  • Musical - Mary Poppins Jr. - Students practiced vocals, blocking and choreography. Their hard work is showing, and we cannot wait for everyone to hear their progress.
  • Rubik’s Cube Club - Students learned new techniques for solving the cube while challenging and encouraging one another throughout the process.
  • STUCO - Students planned Winter Spirit Week, scheduled for Dec. 15–19. It will be a fun way to wrap up 2025 before the holidays.
  • Team Sports - Students participated in a fast-paced game that kept everyone moving. The gym was full of laughter, cheering and energy.
  • Woodworking & Set Design - Students learned how to use power drills. Some were nervous and others were confident, but all gained a useful new skill.
