Karen LaMunyon, Principal
I’m Karen LaMunyon, and I am proud to serve as the principal of Maize South Intermediate School. Since beginning my career in education in 1993, I have had the opportunity to serve students and families in a variety of roles. I am passionate about building strong relationships and creating a school community where students, families, and staff feel connected, supported, and excited to grow. One of the greatest highlights of my career was opening MSIS in 2021 and helping build the amazing Maverick community we have today!
Welcome to Maize South Intermediate School! We are excited to start our Maverick journey together and explore new opportunities for our fifth and sixth graders. We value the support of our families and are looking forward to connecting and growing together.

Support Staff
Our secretaries manage administrative tasks, support communication between staff, students, and parents, and ensure the smooth operation of the school office. Our counselors support students' emotional, social, and academic development by providing guidance, resources, and a safe space to address their needs. Our school nurse cares for the health and wellness of students, including administering medication. Learn about health services in the district.
